This Privacy Policy explains how the HomeCook app ("HomeCook", "we", "us") handles your information. HomeCook helps you discover recipes and track how much you save by cooking at home instead of ordering takeaway. We are committed to keeping your data safe and collecting as little as possible.
Who we are
HomeCook is operated by T1K LTD. For any privacy questions or requests, contact us at support@chore-track.com.
Information we collect
If you sign in with Google (optional):
- Your name, email address and profile photo, as provided by Google Sign-In. We use these only to identify your account and display your profile within the app.
- We do not receive your Google password or any other Google account data.
If you use HomeCook as a guest:
- No account is created and no personal identifiers are collected. Your data stays on your device.
Data you create in the app:
- Your cook log, savings history, selected supermarket, custom prices, and app preferences (such as dark mode).
- For guests, this is stored only on your device. For signed-in users, it may be associated with your account so it can sync across your devices.
Recipe search:
- When you search for recipes, the search terms are processed to find matching results.
- If you use AI recipe generation (a feature that requires being signed in), the dish name you enter is sent to our secure server and to our AI provider (Anthropic) solely to generate a recipe. We do not send your name, email or any other personal information with these requests.
We do not collect: your location, contacts, photos, device identifiers for advertising, or any sensitive personal data. HomeCook contains no third-party advertising.
How we use your information
- To provide the app's core features — recipes, savings tracking and your cook history.
- To sync your data across devices when you are signed in.
- To generate recipes on request via our AI feature.
- To maintain the security and reliability of the service.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
Where your data is stored
HomeCook uses Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore and Cloud Functions) to provide accounts, data sync and the recipe service. Firebase is provided by Google and may process data on secure servers. See Firebase's privacy information for details.
AI recipe generation is processed by Anthropic. Only the dish name you search is sent — never your identity. See Anthropic's privacy policy.
Shared recipe library
Recipes generated by the AI feature may be saved to a shared library so that other users searching for the same dish receive an instant result without regenerating it. These saved recipes contain no personal information — only the recipe content itself (ingredients, steps and costs).
Data retention
Your account data is kept for as long as you use the app. If you wish to delete your account and associated data, contact us at support@chore-track.com and we will remove it. Guest data can be cleared at any time by clearing the app's data on your device.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data, or to object to its processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@chore-track.com.
Children
HomeCook is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Prices and savings estimates
Ingredient and takeaway prices shown in HomeCook are estimates provided for guidance only. They may not reflect current prices at your local shops or takeaways. Savings figures are illustrative and are not guarantees.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be communicated within the app where appropriate.
